SDM PARTNERS was founded in January 2009, at the depth of the Great Recession, on the belief that opportunity springs from tragedy.

STEVEN D. MARTIN is a 34 year veteran of commercial real estate whose areas of expertise include acquisitions, development, and finance. Prior to the formation of SDM Partners, Mr. Martin was the Atlanta Managing Director for Granite Properties. He established the Granite Atlanta office and during his six-year tenure was responsible for over $350 million of successful transactions. 

From 1991 through 2001, Mr. Martin was the head of acquisitions and development for Brannen Goddard Company (which subsequently became Goddard Investment Group) where he was responsible for the acquisition of over 3 million square feet in the 1990's. Early in Mr. Martin's career, he was employed at Aronov Realty Company, Trammell Crow Company, and Mellon Bank.

Mr. Martin has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Jacksonville State University and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was the 1999 NAIOP-GA chapter president, and was the national NAIOP chairman for 2015. He also served on the board of the Real Estate Roundtable in 2015.

 

A native Atlantan, Mr. Martin is married and has a 22-year old son.
